In the Psychotherapy Process and Outcome Research Lab at Idaho State University our mission is to use scientific inquiry, paired with client and therapist report, to gain a better understanding of how and why psychotherapy works. Through this understanding, we aim to further advance the strategies used in the field to help a greater number of clients seek psychotherapy when they experience a mental health need, stick with and complete a full course of treatment, and experience change through personalized and tailored intervention approaches.
In addition to being published and cited in the top journals for the field, the research conducted in our lab has been highlighted by The New York Times, Huffington Post, Science Daily, The Atlantic, GoodTherapy.org, Psychology Today, and more.
